What is Air-Net?

Air-Net, as its name suggests, brings you fast broadband internet access through the air.

Now you can get instant wireless broadband internet access in lots of locations around the world just as you would in your home or office. The only difference – you don’t need any phone or network cables to connect to the internet – it's wireless. So it works like a mobile or cell phone. But instead of making a phone call without wires, you access the internet without wires.

There is no need to take modem cables and phone adaptors with you when you travel at home or abroad. Simply find an Air-Net HotSpot, switch on your wireless or Wi-Fi enabled Laptop Computer, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) or Phone, and instantly pick up our wireless internet signal. A few clicks later you will be surfing the web or downloading files and emails at broadband speeds. It’s that simple.

Nearly all new laptop computers, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) and a growing number of Mobile and Cell phones are wireless or ‘wi-fi’ enabled. This means that they can pick up the Air-Net wireless signal in any of our HotSpots and quickly establish your internet connection.

With the growing use of Voice over IP telephone calls Air-Net offers users the ability to ‘take’ their phone number with them when they travel and make calls using their wireless internet connection.

To get started simply register for an Air-Net Global Account. You will be able to specify the currency in which you would like to pay for your Global Access. Air-Net Global accounts can be set up in any US, Canadian and Australian Dollars, Euro, Sterling and Yen.

Next log into your online account area and add some credit to your Global Account using either Credit Card or Pay Pal. You are now ready to book access on any Air-Net HotSpot. It's that simple. You can easily have family, friends or employers send you credit via your Pay Pal account which can then be transferred into your Air-Net account balance via the Users area.

As you visit our HotSpots around the world, their charges will be displayed in your preferred payment currency regardless of their local payment currency. All charges are automatically converted into your own currency and deducted from your Air-Net Global Account balance when you book access.

Managing your account online is very easy and intuitive. The screens are displayed in your own language and we are adding new languages as our user base grows. As well as adding credit to your Air-Net account you can get details on your usage history, billing history, leave feed back, get answers to FAQ, and use our ticketing system to get support from Air-Net or our partner Hot Spots. Above all we value our customers' experiences. We want to set the standard for Global Wireless Internet Access, and want to hear from you via our unique HotSpot Feedback system, or directly via email, with comments and suggestions on how we can improve our service.

Air-Net is continually adding new HotSpots around the world giving users more and more places to access the internet. From small cafes to Multi National Hotel chains, Air-Net makes Global Roaming Wireless Internet Access a reality for its users and HotSpot Partners.

How do I access the internet at an Air-Net HotSpot?
When you create your Air-Net account you will be asked to enter your email address. This becomes your unique login id for online User Management and booking access on Air-Net Hot Spots around the world.

Each Air-Net HotSpot transmits its own Wireless Internet Signal called the SSID. This will be something like "White Horse Hotel" or "Joe's Restaurant". Ask the Hot Spot owner what their SSID is when you arrive if you are not aware of it.

Your Wireless enabled Computer, PDA or phone will pick up the signal and display the SSID on its Wireless Networks Selection screen. You can then connect to the Hot Spot's Wireless Network.

Once connected, open your Internet Browser. You will automatically arrive at the Hot Spot Login screen. Enter your login and password and you will be asked to select the type and duration of access that you want. Perhaps you want a fast 1 Mb connection for 10 min's, or a slower 256kb for three days. You are then immediately connected to the Internet and can use the connection until your session time runs out.

If the HotSpot you want to use charges in a currency that is not your preferred currency the prices are automatically converted to your currency, and that amount is deducted from your account when you book access.

What if my local currency is not supported, or I can not pay using Credit Cards or Pay Pal, can I still access a HotSpot?
Yes, we realise that not every currency in the world is supported by electronic payment systems.

All Air-Net HotSpot owners can offer Wi-Fi access to visitors in their local currency.

Simply pay the HotSpot in their local currency and you will be given credit at that particular HotSpot. You can then select your access package and duration and get instant access.

When you pay locally for HotSpot access you will can use this credit on any other HotSpots that are owned by the same owner or operator.

You can have multiple local currency accounts associated with your login id at different HotSpots around the world.

Can other people credit my Air-Net account for me?

Yes, if your parents, friends, or your employer want to pay for your Wireless Internet access then they can add credit to your Air-Net account simply by sending you the money via Pay Pal. You can then login to your Air-Net account and top-up from your Pay Pal account.
