Hi to all our Owners and Partners
We
are pleased to announce the latest release of the
Air-Net User Authentication and Billing System.
Not only does this include new functionality, but
we have upgraded our systems software which is already
showing improved speed and response times.
Our uptime,
and your business are paramount, so we have invested
time and money in our Data Centre to improve redundancy
and fail safes.
Data
Centre
The
Air-Net system is runs on a Dell Power Edge Server.
The server uses a Xeon processor and has Raid1 mirrored
drives. We plan to add dual processors as the system
usage increases to keep performance high
We have now installed
another replica server in the same rack in the
Data Center.
As well as the
mirrored drives in each server, the MySql database
is mirrored across the servers. This means we
can easily switch to the standby server in the
event of a failure on the live server.
Both servers
are connected to a Tier1 Backbone PoP in Belfast
managed by our hosting partner Bytel www.bytel.net.uk
ensuring excellent response times and connectivity.
System
Software We
have upgraded both servers to SUSE Linux 10.1.
We are now running PHP5 and MySQL5 offering improved
performance and security.

Detailed
Changes Prepay
Tickets
The
Prepay ticketing system is now full operational.
You as an owner can log into the system, and under
the Admin Tab, create a batch of Instant Access
Tickets, based on Duration, Value, and Qty. You
will then be given the opportunity to download
the Ticket ID's in a CSV file which you can then
use to print your own branded Prepay tickets.
Prepay Top up tickets
have also been included in this release. This
allows you to let users buy local credit on your
Hotspots without having to manually add the credit
for them via the Local Users Tab
For both Ticket
types you can review information on the tickets
eg. When it was used, and by whom either MacID
or email (if the ticket was a Top up card)
You can also delete
any unused tickets in case of theft of loss.
AUL
Air-Net now bases connections
on available AUL (Active User License) Active
user Licenses are valid for a period of 1 year.
AUL’s is per owner, not Hotspot, and the
AUL’s can be used to cover active users
across all your Hotspots. They are con-current,
so if you have a 100 AUL you can not have anymore
than 100 users on your hotspots at any one time.
You will be alerted
if you are using above 70% of your AUL’s.
The minimum quantity
per owner is 100 and they cost £1 each,
There are discounts for quantities about 100
FAUL
We
have replaced the old Free Access system a new
Free Access User License (FAUL) system. This has
been designed for customers who want to offer
limited free access to their hotspots. The free
access can be designated “Open” where
by anyone can have access, or, “Specified”
whereby only users that you specify can get free
access.
The period of free access is also defined by you.
Each owner gets
5 FAUL’s as default. The purchase price
for FAUL’s is still being finalise but we
think it will be in the region of £5 per
user per year.
- Open Access
This will allow ANY users logging into your hotspot
to limited free access depending upon your available
FAUL. * Users MUST have an Air-Net Wifi Account.
- Specified Free
Access
You will specify if you select this feature, the
email address of the user who will be given free
access. * Users MUST have an Air-Net Wifi Account.
- You can also
specify the Duration the users will be given when
they login, eg. 1 minute to 60 months.
Important Note,
The New FAUL uses the Guest account on the Mesh
Node, so you can have 3 full tariffs and a 4th
hidden that will be used for the FAUL.
Fully
Automated Payment System
On the first day of each month
we will generate invoices covering the previous
month’s sessions.
An invoice payable
to Owners and/or Partners will be generated for
all User’s sessions booked through the user’s
Global Account’s in the previous month.
An invoice payable
to Air-Net will be generated for all Users’
sessions booked through the user’s Local
Account’s, or Instant Pre-Pay Tickets in
the previous month.
If an invoice has
been generated for you, you will receive an email
informing you of this.
Upon receiving
the Invoice Notification, you should log into
you Owner and/or Partner panel and go to the “Invoices”
tab
You will see your
new invoice(s) in the “Outstanding Invoices
area. Click on the “View” link to
see the details of the Invoice.
If you are satisfied
with the Invoice you should “Accept Payment”
and this will trigger us to transfer the Invoice
Amount to/from your Pay Pal account.
Important Note:
We will run a special “first run”
to generate invoice with everything owing to the
end of July 2006. Please add your Tax Id and Number
so if you want them included in the Invoice.
Sign
Up Stats
From
day one of Air-Net going live we have recorded
the users who have reached your Splash Page. We
have also recorded those who have then registered
for an Air-Net account, and presumably went on
to book access.. So you can now view how many
users registered for an account on each of your
Hotspots.
Removed
Loading Screen
We
have removed the loading screen to improve performance.
When a user books access they will be redirected
to the landing page immediately. There should
now be a very small delay, where as before there
was a 5 - 15 second delay.
Current
Active Users Download
This
feature is available when you click to see active
users; this function will download a CSV file
showing the MACID, NODE, SPEED and DURATION for
Active Users only.
